If you’ve been following R&B for the past two years, you’ve undoubtedly heard the name 6LACK over the past few years. The Atlanta rapper and singer broke onto the mainstream scene with his project Free 6LACK, back in 2016. Since then, the singer and rapper has been steadily rising thanks to his incredible verse in a 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards cypher and a steady stream of new music. Not to mention, he’s collaborated with Khalid, Ty Dolla $ign, T-Pain, Halsey and many more. Most recently, he released his newest single, “Switch”, and announced that his sophomore album was finished.
Today, the singer took a break from Chris Brown’s Heartbreak On A Full Moon tour to drop off the visuals for his newest single. Much like the song indicates, the visual focuses on the changes 6LACK has faced in his personal and professional life over the past year and change. The video focuses on 6LACK laying on the road after a motorcycle accident as paparazzi take pictures of his body instead of stopping to help him. As the video goes along, fans get to see bits of archival footage from his tours over the past eighteen months. Overall, the video has a dark feel that is consistent with 6LACK’s brand.
Fans can check out the video and wait for the album that 6LACK says is on the way. Also, 6LACK took a photo with J. Cole recently. Could he be on the album? Only time will tell.
