The Denver Broncos lost their All-Pro tight end Julius Thomas in free agency when he departed the team to join the Jacksonville Jaguars. Thomas has only played three games with the Jaguars so far, totaling 10 receptions, 102 yards and one touchdown in that time.
The Denver Broncos tight ends have not put up anywhere near the same production as Thomas had in the past. They have now made a move to bring in an all-pro tight end, taking him off a struggling team to possibly help their offense that has struggled in its own right this season.
One of the best tight ends of all-time, Vernon Davis, will join Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
Following from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Here we go: 49ers trading TE Vernon Davis to Denver for 6th- and 7th-round picks this year, and a 6th-round pick in 2017, sources tell ESPN.
