The San Francisco 49ers are in the early stages of their rebuild under new general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan. An important part to a rebuild is bringing in guys who can help produce immediately. Pierre Garcon fits that bill.
The wide receiver reportedly requested a trade from the Redskins last season due in part to differing opinions with head coach Jay Gruden. He waited out the season and immediately hit free agency, and his patience will end up rewarding him. The 49ers are reportedly signing Garcon to a deal which could see him get paid $16 million in his first year.

Garcon, 30, was a sixth-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts back in 2008. He spent four years with the Colts before signing a five-year, $42.5 million contract, including $20.5 million guaranteed, with the Redskins back in 2012.
In 2016, Garcon played in all 16 games for the Redskins, recording 79 receptions for 1,041 yards and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 8 receiver out of 115 qualifying wide receivers.
