According to some people, the best center on the free agent field is currently off the board. The New York Giants let center Weston Richburg hit the open market after he spent four seasons with the team. The center is joining a 49ers team that has been pretty active this offseason rebuilding their franchise.
Following comes from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The #49ers signed former #Giants C Weston Richburg to a 5-year, $47.5M deal with $28.5M in guarantees, source said. He gets $16.5M fully guaranteed.

Richburg will now be snapping passes to Jimmy Garoppolo, the young future franchise leader for the team after they gave him a huge contract last month. Richburg joins Richard Sherman as the second big name signee this offseason.
Richburg, 26, has started 50 games for the Giants across his career but only played in four games last season due to an issue with concussions. He’s hoping to be the point of consistency on the 49ers offensive line going forward.
