So with the college season over with topped off with an amazing final game (Well played UConn, men & women) all eyes now turn to the stars of men’s basketball. Who’s going and who is staying.
We’ve already had a few notable declarations like possible no.1 pick Andrew Wiggins, TJ Warren, Dante Exum, Marcus Smart and many more.
But we still have some players taking their time to make up their minds, and rightly so. We have 3 players that have made statements in the past 24 hours. Some a little different than the others.
Lets start off with the 7-foot Jayhawk, Joel Embiid.
After some speculation that he might stay for another year, he has decided to take the plunge and join his fellow Jayhawk Andrew Wiggins and has declared for the NBA Draft.
Safe to say that he’ll be a top 5 pick. It’s like they say. You can’t teach 7-feet. In his Freshman season he averaged 11.2 points (shooting 63 percent), 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks a game.
The only possible red flag for scouts and GM’s is his back which sidelined him for 6 games.
But to me there’s no sweat. Andre Drummond had the same problem, look where he’s at now. An absolute beast on a terrible team.
Hopefully Embiid gets picked by a half decent team.
Now. Reports last night from Twitter accounts such as SportsCenter and alike reported that Kentucky’s Julius Randle and Michigan’s Nik Stauskas declared for the Draft… Those reports are FALSE. They have not declared. They both posted on their personal twitter accounts denying the reports.
And Stauskas denied it and then retweeted SportsCenter’s “update”…
