We can all agree that the closing credit sequence of ’22 Jump Street’ was the best part of the movie, but it left some wondering if that was it for the franchise.

Deadline is reporting that Sony Pictures have begun pre-production on the third film. Rodney Rothman, the man responsible for writing ’22 Jump Street’, has been hired to write the sequel.
Its unclear if Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will be back to direct the movie.
’22 Jump Street‘ was a box office smash earlier this summer. The film had a historic $57 million domestic opening weekend and went on to gross $319 million globally.
