Detroit came out the gates swinging just like game 1! They took an early 15-7 lead behind an energized Andre Drummond and hot shooting from Marcus Morris and KCP. Kyrie Irving got it going midway through the first going on a 8-0 run himself, he got some help from JR Smith who knocked down to treys to close out the quarter. Pistons lead 28-23 after 1.
Once the 2nd period started, playoff LeBron started to make his presence felt! He started the quarter scoring and taking advantages of the Pistons bench.
The Cavs were on fire this quarter knocking down six 3’s and getting some sick jams from LeBron. Detroit held on tight though never letting the deficit go higher than seven points. Cleveland went into the half leading 55-53.
Pistons came out in the 2nd half ready for battle and started off hot taking a 65-60 lead early but then that’s when the Cavs decided to put the pedal to the metal and never look back.
It was literally nothing the Pistons could do once the Cavs caught fire, the defensive rotations could have been a tad bit better but Cleveland was able to knock down a playoff record setting 20 three pointers! Pistons went broke during the Cavs onslaught and before they knew it they were down by 18 midway through the 4th.
If the Pistons want to take game 3 they’re going to need Marcus Morris and Tobias Harris to step up their play, they went a combined 5-20 from the field.
The series shifts back to Detroit for game 3 this Friday @ 7pm.
