21 Savage’s first Grammy award gets the Stanley Cup treatment in the “Runnin” video. Seven months after he won the award for “A Lot” with J. Cole, Metro Boomin’ brought the award to 21 Savage’s Atlanta neighborhood. From there, everyone gets a chance to touch it, take picture with it, dance with it and much more. The duo starts by taking the award to the projects before stopping at the gas station and strip club. Along the way, it looks like everyone is having the time of their lives.
“Runnin” is the first track from Savage Mode II to get the video treatment. The latest joint project from the accomplished duo includes features from Drake, Young Thug and Young Nudy. It also features narration from the great Morgan Freeman.
“I read the copy and was like, ‘Wow, there’s some wisdom in here,’” Freeman said after reading the script.
“I think this is the way I think. It’s basically saying don’t suffer fools and when you want something go for that,” he said, adding “If [Savage’s music] is a young people thing, then this is stuff they need to be aware of. So it’s a good thing to do.”
Good music coupled with Morgan Freeman narration usually doesn’t miss. Check out the new video for “Runnin” below.
