On Friday, December 22, 21 Savage and the Leading By Example Foundation hosted its fifth annual holiday toy drive at the Wade Walker Family YMCA in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The holiday toy drive provided 75 children and their families with hors d’oeuvres and gifts. Attendees were also joined by 21 Savage’s manager, Justin “Meezy” Williams, 21 Savage’s mother, Heather Joseph, and State Representative Billy Mitchell.
21 Savage not only provided enriching holiday experiences to others, but he also received a gift in return for his philanthropic efforts. Savage and The Leading By Example Foundation received the Community Impact Award for their work in the greater Atlanta area. While the chart-topping artist was not in attendance, his mother, Heather Joseph, was around to accept the honor.
The holiday toy drive wraps up another strong year for the Atlanta native in and out of the recording studio. This year, he received five Grammy nods for his collaborations with Burna Boy and Drake. Also, he headlined his first shows in London and teased the release of his third studio LP, which is expected early next year.
