Broccoli City Festival will return to Washington, D.C. on July 27-28, 2024, but there will be a few changes. After receiving feedback from last year’s attendees, festival founders Brandon McEachern, Marcus Allen, Darryl Perkins and Jermon Williams have moved the event to Audi Field.
“Broccoli moving to Audi Field is smart,” tweeted Anwaa Kong, founder of MVEMNT.
“Broccoli at Audi Field is gonna be OC,” on-air personality Little Bacon Bear added.
While the event will change locations, it will bring back a few mainstays of pervious festivals, including Gunna. Gunna last performed at Broccoli City Festival on May 8, 2022 when the event was held at RFK Festival Grounds. Within 72 hours, the chart-topping was arrested in connection to a RICO Case formed against his record label, YSL. Since then, the four-time GRAMMY nominee has been released and recorded a new album called A Gift & A Curse. The project has topped the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and spawned the hit single, “fukumean.” Now, he’ll return to the nation’s capital as fans speculate he’ll drop a new album heading into the summer.
“[I] saw Gunna at Broccoli City before he got arrested and I get to see him again,” one attendee mentioned.
“Gunna getting arrested after the last [B]roccoli [C]ity and performing at this one a full circle moment,” another post reads.
Alongside Gunna, Megan Thee Stallion will also take the stage at Audi Field. When fans examined the list of dates scheduled for her upcoming tour, many were saddened to see Washington, D.C. wasn’t included. Little did the world know, she’d be making her way to the city by way of Broccoli City Festival.
“That’s why Megan ain’t got a DC tour date! It’s adding up now,” photographer Jada Imani M wrote.
Other highlights from the Broccoli City Festival lineup unveiling include a performance from PARTYNEXTDOOR as fans await his next album and a special edition of Trap Karaoke hosted by Bryson Tiller. Not to be forgotten, Broccoli City veterans Mouse Jones, Little Bacon Bear, Jae Murphy and others will be gracing the stage throughout the weekend.
