
The league sent its annual NBA GM survey to all 30 general managers recently, a sheet consisting of 47 different questions about the association. Awards, future assets and coaching were among the questions each general manager was asked.
The NBA officially released the results on Wednesday. Most general managers voted LeBron James for Most Valuable Player, Lonzo Ball for Rookie of the Year, and Kawhi Leonard as best defensive player. 28 of 30 GM’s predicted that the Golden State Warriors will repeat as NBA champions, which is one less voter than last season.
It’s important to note that general managers were not permitted to vote for their own teams, meaning there was only one person that did not vote for the Warriors who had a chance to.
The GM’s were also polled on a number of other subjects, including the most versatile player, best player at each position, best international player, best head coach and best pure shooter. 82 percent chose San Antonio’s Gregg Popovich as best coach. For best player at each position, Stephen Curry, James Harden, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Karl-Anthony Towns received the most votes at their respective spots.
