The Men’s Basketball Draw for the 2016 Summer Olympics have been released. FIBA, the highest governing body for international basketball had the draw live on YouTube today and if you haven’t seen Olympic basketball before, let me scare you to death. I’ll only do it with one sentence.
Every team have to play their group games every other day.
That means Team USA will have only one rest day before their next game. I guarantee this scenario. If somebody gets injured, all of you will be in an uproar going “MORE REST DAYS!” Oh no this isn’t the NBA. LeBron James will not be able to go to FIBA and demand a week off or whatever. It’s been standard procedure for decades, you have no power here.
Anyways, onto the full draw.
Here is the Men’s Basketball Draw and schedule.

Notice how the Men’s Canadian basketball team isn’t there yet. That’s how legit the International basketball scene is. We’ve been seeing Canadians coming into the NBA at an alarming rate but they’re not there yet on the International level.
I’m personally just depressed about my Team GB. We’ll never get there, I blame us. We don’t fund basketball even though basketball is very popular in the UK.
Both USA women and men will take the Golds, that’s consensus. I don’t see anybody toppling the US.
