The Seattle Seahawks are going into this draft without a first round pick, although this may not necessarily be a bad thing after trading for Jimmy Graham. Graham now makes offense scary good making Seattle Superbowl favorites. With 11 draft picks Seattle will look to cash in on late round gems. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and Russell Wilson are just a few example of some late round gems General Manager John Schneider has found in the past.
This is a team with very little holes. One spot the team could look is at wide receiver. With the 63rd pick in the second round Tyler Lockett out of Kansas State could be a player to keep an eye. Lockett could make the perfect slot target for Russell Wilson. Lockett could also provide the team valuable return skills. He would provide a serious upgrade over Doug Baldwin in regards to returning skills.
The Seahawks also need another corner with the departure of Byron Maxwell. Seattle smartly opted to not over pay for Maxwell. After signing Cary Williams it would be smart to draft another young corner especially with Jeremy Lane tearing his ACL in the Superbowl. Steven Nelson out of Oregon State could make a great fit for the team. A press corner could stay out on the west coast and learn from the best in Richard Sherman. Nelson could likely be had at pick number 95 in the third round. Head Coach Pete Carroll loves Pac 12 guys from his time at USC.
Seattle is also in need of a center after trading Max Unger in the Jimmy Graham trade. B.J. Finney out of Kansas State could be a nice replacement. A four year starter offers immediate experience to step in and play right away. Hroniss Grasu is another player to consider but will likely not be available in the third round. Former Seattle center Max Unger was another Oregon Duck who was drafted back in 2009. With a total of 11 picks the Seahawks will have plenty of options when it comes to trading.
