Kobe Bryant wasn’t the only one to make history on the final day of the 2015-16 NBA regular season. The Golden State Warriors were looking to win their 73rd game of the season, a mark that would break the Chicago Bulls record of 72 wins set back in the 1995-96 season.
From the opening tip of their matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies, the Warriors took the lead and never looked back. Stephen Curry led the way for the night scoring 46 points on 15-24 shooting and going 10-19 from three-point range and he also surpassed 400 made three’s on the season, continuing to break his own regular season made three’s record. To put it in perspective, Curry broke the record last year for made three’s in a season with 286 and it took Larry Bird nine years (9!!!) to make 400 three’s.
The Dubs did what they have been doing for a majority of the season, dominate from start to finish and protect their home court and they ended the season in proper fashion, breaking the Chicago Bulls record.
