Wale is back! Less than a month after parting ways with Atlantic Records, the Washington, D.C. native is back on the streets with a new body of work called It’s Complicated. Released independently, the four-track EP details the trials and tribulations of balancing a love life while facing instability in your personal life. The newly released EP, which is his first project since Shine, has a sole feature from Young Money’s own, Jacquees. Wale took to Twitter last night to let fans know where the motivation for his latest body of work comes from.

Wale’s tweets put it mildly. In the past two years, Wale’s life has been a rollercoaster ride. The passionate and bold emcee has had an eventful two years which includes having a child, his back and forth with DJ Akademiks on Everyday Struggle, the release of a solid album that did not meet commercial expectations and his recent split from Atlantic Records. That list of recent events doesn’t even include his friendly back and forth with J. Cole or anything else going on behind the scenes that the general public is not privy to. Through all of that, Wale has delivered a new project and fans are elated.

It’s Complicated comes as a part of a recent run of new music from Wale that includes singles like “Staying Power“, “All-Star Break Up” and “The Weekend Remix“. With no signs of slowing down, don’t be surprised if we’re back in another month or so celebrating a new Wale release. For now, enjoy It’s Complicated.
