A freshman in high school standing at 6’8 probably gets a lot of attention. When you’re a freshman in high school, standing at 6’8 and you’re the son of one of the greatest basketball players of all-time, the expectations might be a little high for your basketball career.
Shaquille O’Neal’s son, Shareef O’Neal, was recently playing with the AAU team, California Supreme, this past weekend in Houston at the 2015 Big Cup. His dad flew out to check out his son play some games in the tournament. Shareef is currently a freshman at Windward High School in Los Angeles, California.
You can already see Shareef has a better shot than his dad and he can handle the ball WAY better than Shaq. Shareef being a freshman already standing at 6’8 possibly means he’s only going to get taller and that could be a problem for some opposing teams. Look at how hard it is for some teams to handle the 7 foot high school guard Thon Maker.
Shaq’s son joins the list of already talented offspring of NBA stars. We’ve already seen the skilled children of Metta World Peace, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade already do some fantastic things in their youth. The next wave of supremely talented kids are coming fast and they have some famous names coming along the way.
