It’s always good to see athletes take time out of their schedule to do some fun things, especially when it’s for the kids. Recently, Chicago Bulls forward Pau Gasol took to the historic children’s show ‘Sesame Street’ to talk about coaching.
Pau knows a thing or 2 about coaching, he’s had some good ones from his days with the Memphis Grizzlies under coach Hubie Brown, Lionel Hollins and Mike Fratello to the his time with the Los Angeles Lakers being coached by Mike D’Antoni, Mike Brown and the legendary Phil Jackson and now with his current coach on the Chicago Bulls, defensive guru, Tom Thibodeau.
Gasol and Abby Cadabby talking about playing basketball is a great move for both the NBA and Sesame Street. Gasol is a great representative for the sports and the league. He makes it all sounds so simple and pure at that level to the kids and seeing him do this works for Gasol, who is arguably the nicest guy in the league.
I mean, you wouldn’t want your kids learning about basketball from a guy with a mean streak like Patrick Beverley, would you?
Does this video with Pau teaching a puppet to dribble a basketball mean he might consider coaching in the NBA? Probably not but what it does mean that Pau has fun away from the court and he even has some great dance moves to go along with it.
