Chris Paul and Isaiah Thomas dueled what would be their last game before 2016 NBA All-Star Weekend. Both guards were named as reserves for the 2016 NBA All-Star game and they wanted to put everyone on notice of what could come over the weekend.
The Los Angeles Clippers came into their matchup with the Boston Celtics limping into the All-Star break hoping for some sort of relief after injuries to two big rotation players in their star Blake Griffin and backup point guard Austin Rivers. The game also marked the return of Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce returning to Boston to take on the Celtics.
Chris Paul dropped 35 points on 13-21 shooting in 48 minutes of action with 13 assists and a nasty alley-oop to DeAndre Jordan who put down a big slam over Marcus Smart but on the otherhand, Thomas dropped 36 points on 12-21 shooting with 11 assists on the night. The matchup between the two marked the first time a pair of players scored 35 and handed out 10 assists in the last 10 years.
Isaiah Thomas & Chris Paul are the 1st players w/ 35 points and 10 assists against each other since Jason Kidd & Steve Nash in December 2006
