Almost seven months since some of the music industry’s who’s who took to a platform to sign their contracts with Tidal, we’ve seen the ups and downs, whether true or false, that the music streaming service has faced. From allegedly losing countless amounts of subscribers, to potentially launching a deal with Samsung, no matter the accusation, Jay Z stood strong in his investment and went forth to successfully put on a charity benefit concert that was viewed by 3.3 million people across the world.
Thanks to more than 3.3 million fans from 198 countries who donated, tuned in & joined us in Brooklyn! #TIDALX1020 pic.twitter.com/pqGi6eratj

With a star-studded lineup that included the likes of Beyonce, Jay Z, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Nas, and many more, the whole premise of the event was to not only celebrate the one million subscribers milestone, but to also raise money for the New World Foundation nonprofit organization. Days after the event, according to Billboard.com, through many donations, the Tidal X concert helped raise approximately $1 million. An accomplishment indeed, things are only getting started for Tidal and the ‘Tidal X’ concert series. With a focus on always being innovative, it will be great to see what the service has in store for us next.
