Lions, tigers and bears, oh my…
Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book’ could easily be one of the best movies this year and this is me basing my opinion simply off the trailer we all witnessed during Super Bowl 50. ‘The Jungle Book‘ is a live-action epic adventure based on Rudyard Kipling’s story and also inspired by the Disney animated film. Following the adventures of the man-cub Mowgli (Neel Sethi) who was raised by wolves, we are taken on a wild ride throughout the jungle. Starring an all-star cast, all of our favorite characters and possibly least favorite characters are all present throughout this Super Bowl trailer.
Tiger: Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), Panther: Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), Bear: Baloo (voice of Bill Murray), Python: Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), Orangutan: King Louie (Voice of Christopher Walken), Mother Wolf: Raksha (Voice of Lupita Nyong’o) and Alpha Male Wolf: Akela (Voice of Giancarlo Esposito)
While Mowgli is on a journey of self-discovery he is mentored with the help of Bagheera and Baloo who protect him throughout many of his encounters in the Jungle. He is ridden away from the place he’s called home by Shere Khan who bares the scares caused by humans and while seductive the Python, Kaa certainly doesn’t have Mowgli’s best interests in mind. Also we witness his encounter with King Louie who also has his own motives as he wants to get Mowgli to give up the secret to the red flower aka fire.
