Terrell Owens is a former NFL star who has dabbled in the idea of making a return to the gridiron on more than one occassion. One of the most prolific pass catchers in the history of the NFL made his mark with teams like the San Fransisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles throughout his historic career and he’s on a path to land in the NFL Hall of Fame one day.
But before the often controversial wide receiver gets his bronze bust in Canton, Ohio, it looks like he will be suiting up one more time but not on the football field.
The Basketball Tournament, the annual winner-takes-all tournament with the grand prize being $2 million this summer, will have yet another big name enter himself in the player pool. Owens will join former NBA stars in Larry Sanders, Mike Bibby and Jason Williams to recently announce that they will be participating this year. Owens says he will be a booster and you might be able to see him suit up for a game.
He formally announced it below, as part of his verification on his TBT page.
Owens does have some chops on the basketball court. He played division 1 ball in the mid-90’s for his alma mater the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga including a trip to the NCAA tournament. The 6’2″ wideout is listed as a shooting guard on the ‘CBA’ team page.
Be sure to get out and vote to see Owens and other stars make it into the TBT tournament, which officially begins in July and you can buy tickets for an event near you, here.
