Paramount Pictures have officially removed the upcoming Terminator sequels from their release schedule. The second film of the trilogy was slated to release May 19, 2017, but fans can now kiss that goodbye.
Terminator Genisys — the first film in the remake trilogy — fell short of the expectations for Paramount and Skydance. The film cost over $150 Million to make, but only grossed close to 90 million. The film did good worldwide, grossing $440 million, but that wasn’t nearly enough for the studios to recoup.
According to Skydance Media CCO, Dana Goldberg, the sequel will still make its way to way to theaters, but the release is still up in the air.
