Over 20 years in the game and the consistency remains.
Wu-Tang legend, Raekwon, is back with his latest album The Wild. Fans have been on the lookout for the album since January but were blindsided by the release. “This project was designed for the culture of rap to know aint a dam thing change since the beginning of my career,” Raekwon told fans in an Instagram post. The rapper also talked with AllHipHop about the title of the album and more:
The title, The Wild, represents the times that we’re in and the vibe I’m getting from what I’m seeing going on in the world … I look at today’s industry as being a jungle. There are different rules. Me being out in the wild for so long and looking at what it is today, it’s just different. All that I’m doing is expressing myself in the greatest way to let people know that I still get busy on the mic, I can still swing around this jungle and still be the king at what I do. – Raekwon, AllHipHop (2017)
The 16 track project includes features by CeeLo Green, Lil Wayne, G-Eazy, and more. Producers on the project are J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Dame Grease, and Xtreme, to name a few. Stream The Wild below in Apple Music.
