Do you have a “hidden” gem in your music collection that you feel reluctant to share with others due to how much it means to you? I’m sure you do and that’s how I felt about James Blake’s music. Releasing his debut self-titled album, James Blake, over 5 years ago, James has went on to develop a signature style of his own that makes him unique in a world where many are often copied. Today, in what seemed to be on a whim, the singer went ahead and officially announced and released his third studio album, The Colour In Anything. Comprised of 17 tracks, the album features an appearance from Grammy winner, Bon Iver, and also features a writer’s credit from Frank Ocean. With a loyal following that has stuck by the side James Blake over the past 3 years since his sophomore album release, today essentially feels like a birthday and/or Christmas for those that have been patiently waiting for new material to surface. Recently hearing from the singer on Beyonce’s chart-topping LEMONADE album, the timing couldn’t be more perfect as the exposure from her project will only roll over to his past and current music. In what will hopefully be another gem added to his collection of music, take a listen to James Blake’s new album, The Colour In Anything, below.
