The current-gen video game consoles have seen plenty of revisions during their long lifespans; perhaps more than any other systems ever had before. While Nintendo has announced plans to release an entirely new system (Wii U), Microsoft and Sony aren’t ready to move on completely from their current consoles.
It has now been confirmed that Sony will be giving the PS3 another makeover.
At the Tokyo Game Show it was announced that new models will be available in two colors/harddrive options.
The new, even slimmer (by 25% compared to current slim model) version will be available in both “Classic White” (250 GB) and “Charcoal Black” (250 GB, 500 GB) colors. The 250 GB models are set to launch on September 25 at a retail price of $270 and the 500 GB on October 30 (price currently unknown). The 250 GB system will include the “Game of the Year” edition of Uncharted 3 and a $30 voucher for in-game content for the forthcoming free-to-play shooter Dust 514. The 500 GB model will include a limited edition of Assassin’s Creed 3.
