Remember those fun Where’s Waldo books from your childhood? It turns out that the goofy candy-cane striped man may be found next on the big screen. MGM acquired screen rights to the franchise in 2011, and per Deadline it’s been revealed that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are in talks to produce. The studio is planning to have Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir write for the live-action film.
Waldo was created in 1987 by Martin Handford, and the bespectacled fellow is one of the most recognizable pop culture icons in the world. The Where’s Waldo? books have been sold in 38 countries, and the character has also been involved in iPhone game apps.
