No, your mind isn’t playing tricks on you. Yes, Rihanna is covering another issue of Vogue. Merely days ago, the beauty’s cover for British Vogue was unveiled. Being added to her already lengthy amount of previous Vogue covers, who knew that there was another cover on the horizon? Revealed moments ago, Rihanna takes U.S. Vogue by storm as she lands the cover front and center for their upcoming April 2016 issue. If that wasn’t exciting enough, Rihanna sat down for another insightful interview where she discussed everything from the Navy & Beyhive’s long-standing fan-feud, her ANTI album, and so much more.
On the Internet pinning Rihanna and Beyonce against each other: “Here’s the deal,” she says. “They just get so excited to feast on something that’s negative. Something that’s competitive. Something that’s, you know, a rivalry. And that’s just not what I wake up to. Because I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that.”
Touching on records like ‘Consideration’ from ANTI and being bored with Pop: Turns out it takes a while to reinvent your sound. As Delevingne says, “Anti’s got its own genre, and that genre is her.” Had Rihanna gotten bored with the pop formula? “Very much,” the singer says. “I just gravitated toward the songs that were honest to where I’m at right now.” From the first song, “Consideration,” a trip-hop collaboration with SZA, the message is clear. “It might not be some automatic record that will be Top 40. But I felt like I earned the right to do that now.”
One thing is for certain, Rihanna is very sure of what she wants for her career. If it wasn’t prevalent before, it’s definitely certain now that Rihanna isn’t going anywhere. Check out more of the cover issue and accompanying spread, here.
