Man today is truly ‘Talk About The Warriors’ day. Everybody is talking about the Golden State Warriors today. LeBron threw some half shade, Kobe Bryant didn’t leave out the possibility of the Lakers handing the Dubs their first L of the season.
And now Pat Riley is here giving the Warriors the highest of praises. Comparing the Splash Brothers to the Lakers’ West and Goodrich and throwing the word ‘Dynasty’ out there. Uh oh. Can you here that? Hater stampede!
“They are the two most dynamic players in the backcourt, that I have ever seen, since Jerry West and Gail Goodrich,” Riley said. “Go back and check their numbers, 25 points apiece and Jerry leading the team in assists, Gail shooting close to 50 percent or whatever it was. Both of them could shoot it, could drive it, could pass it. That’s what you’re seeing here.”
“They are in the beginning of something that can be dynastic,” Riley said. “They’re in the beginning stages of it, and that’s the scary part, versus somebody that catches lightning in a bottle one time. They’re at the beginning because all of their key players, all of them, are young and they’re talented. The ones that aren’t have what I call ‘youth age,’ like Andre Iguodala, Andrew Bogut, Shaun Livingston — those guys bring an element to the team is incredible.“
Oh cheers Pat, now all we going to hear on TV and radio is ‘If the Warriors go back-to-back, are they becoming a dynasty?’
I don’t want to have that conversation yet, let’s backlog that for a year, because I don’t want this whole year to be about the dynasty thing. We had it when the Big 3 Heat were bossing and it got old real quick. Lets just enjoy the Warriors for what they are.
