The Indiana Pacers will open the NBA season without the services of their leading scorer, and it’s not known when Danny Granger will be able to return. The forward has been ruled out indefinitely with a sore left knee as he seeks a second opinion on the knee that he injured during last year’s bruising second-round match-up with Miami in the playoffs. The Pacers will open their 2012-13 campaign against Toronto tomorrow night and head into the game with another injury concern in addition to Granger, guard George Hill is battling to be 100% fit, he is battling a left thumb injury and a right hip-pointer.
Head coach Frank Vogel said he intends play Hill, but for less minutes than he normally would.
Granger led the Pacers in scoring last season with 18.7 points per game.
