Back To The Future becomes present day. The folks at Nike have delivered on their self lacing sneakers, the Nike Mag and it’s more than what fans were anticipating. There was one catch that panned out to be in the consumers favor. In recent years with the Nike Mag release there was an auction held to raise money for Michael J Fox’s Parkinson’s Foundation.
This year on the other hand just 89 pairs were released by way of raffle. With just $10 and unlimited entry, a pair of Nike Mags could be yours. So while many of us await for results and notifications on who won, the amount raised was made known.
With one winner coming forward saying that he spent $30 (3 entries) to get a pair. In the tweet below Michael J Fox’s foundation notified the amount of $6.75M being raised for research. That’s amazing! Who said sneakers couldn’t be put to good use?
The auctions that took place in London and Hong Kong raised $56,800 and $104,000 respectively. Lastly Michael J Fox Foundation matched the last The Draw dollar for dollar. All around this is a dope effort on everyones behalf.
Breaking: The #NikeMag raised $6.75M for Parkinson’s research through the Draw & 2 auctions! Thank you to everyone who took part!
