Every 90’s baby has the right to jump around in excitement right now. First Nickelodeon developed The Splat, which is a late night time block of all 90’s shows and now we have a full on revival. In a new interview with Variety, Nickelodeon has revealed that they are in the process of bringing a new Hey Arnold! film to television. The movie will pick up right where the series left off back in 2004, figuring out the truth about Arnold’s parents.
While Nickelodeon has yet to give up any information on when the project will air, they have announced that Chris Viscardi will be their new Senior Vice President of Content Development. With this role, Viscardi has the opportunity to see what shows can work in this era.
Russell Hicks, President of Production and Content Development, believes that these upcoming revival of shows is coming at the right time. “Kids who grew up on these characters are now of the age that they are having kids and families themselves” Hicks said. Viscardi and Hicks believe that the shows they plan to revive will bring families together when new episodes air and they are completely correct.
