Netflix is no stranger to taking on hot-button issues. In 2016, the streaming giant released the powerful yet controversial documentary ‘The 13th’, and in 2017, on the other side of the spectrum, it released the widely scrutinized documentary ‘What The Health’ which made many dubious health claims. Including, that eating an egg is as bad for you as smoking cigarettes.
‘Seven Seconds’ will unfortunately probably cause a stir when it’s released since people don’t like hearing the uncomfortable truths about different races experiences in America, but hey, what’s new. The important thing is that the story is being told.
The show will focus on the death of an African-American teenager who is accidentally run over by a white police officer. The story obviously has many parallels to what is currently happening within American society. ‘Seven Seconds’ is being produced by Gavin O’Connor and stars Regina King and Clare-Hope Ashitey.
We’ve attached the trailer and full synopsis below.
