We’ve now entered the second round of the NBA Playoffs. Round one was pretty memorable and I think lived up to the playoffs hype so far. Out of the eight series, two went 4 games, two went 5 games, two went 6, and two went 7 games. Things were pretty balanced and no upsets occurred except the 4/5 western conference Blazers and Clippers match up (they did have some pretty crucial injuries in their defense).
This past week we learned that Carmelo is not only extremely confident in his scoring ability, but still finds himself a legit threat for the upcoming years. LeBron voiced some concerns with the refs and their officiating, and Bledsoe has practically recovered from his knee surgery. Lakers fans rejoice, the team fired Byron Scott and hired Luke Walton! Dwight Howard is most likely leaving Rockets and looks to have plenty of potential suitors.
David Blatt met with the Knicks over their head coach position, and old heads, Dirk Nowitzki and Vince Carter are staying with us for another season. Last but certainly not least, my favorite story of them all is about Andre Drummond who’s adopting a new free throw style. If he was good for a few more free throws a game he would have stayed in the games late vs the Cavs and in my opinion helped the Pistons avoid that sweep. That’s a an argument for a different day though, onto the mixtape!
