If you need a reference for a quick turnaround time, look no further than Wale’s latest record, “Black Is Gold.” Premiering earlier today, the record puts Wale’s touch on D’Angelo’s “Lady,” as the rapper highlights Black women in a positive and flattering light. Building on the attention the record is getting, Wale has decided to drop the accompanying music video for the record. Sticking to the “Black is beautiful” message, Wale’s Issa Rae reference’s are seen throughout the music video and even makes for a funny twist. In what is only leading up to the campaign for his forthcoming Shine album, keep the new music and visuals coming.
