Victor Oladipo had a rather interesting summer. After one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the former second overall pick was traded to the Indiana Pacers, along with Domantas Sabonis, in exchange for Paul George. But his intriguing summer did not end there. He was also in the studio and released a couple of singles, including one with 2 Chainz taking aim at the current president.
While Damian Lillard and a few other NBA players have taken their talents to the rap game, Oladipo has decided to slow it down and get a little smoother. The guard has officially debuted his R&B album entitled ‘Songs for You’, a few months after he released a single by the similar name.
Oladipo spoke with SLAM about his time making the album.
The project is finished. Now the real work begins.
“I’ve been doing music, but I’ve been on a 9-5 grind when it comes to hooping. I’m ready, man, I’m looking forward to it. I wish the season started tomorrow and I can’t wait to go home to Indiana and play.”
Oladipo’s album is now available on iTunes and other major music streaming platforms.
