Oscar de la Renta, a C.F.D.A. Lifetime Achievement Award winner, passed away Monday October 20th 2014. The legendary Fashion designer known for his feminine touch on the red carpet will be missed by many Fashionistas. It’s pointless to say there isn’t an award show where no one shows up wearing Oscar de la Renta. Oscar was trained by Cristobal Balenciaga and Antonio del Castillo and he has worked for Balmain and Lanvin. Oscar also served as president of the C.F.D.A. and in 1990 he was honored with the C.F.D.A. Lifetime Achievement Award.
Oscar de la Renta’s last collection, Spring 2015 RTW, was less conventional but still polished with a lot of florals and a strong feminine touch. That’s the Oscar de la Renta woman…extra feminine with a modern twist. The Oscar de la Renta girl will live forever and so will he…Rest in Peace Oscar de la Renta.
“The only realities in life are that you are born, and that you die. We always think we are going to live forever. The one thing about having this kind of warning is how you appreciate every single day of life.” – Oscar de la Renta
