This week’s Billboard Top 200 chart has finally been unveiled. As expected, it was a tight race for the battle of number 1 as three major acts all competed for the top spot with the release of their albums.
Having Lana Del Rey unleash her Lust For Life LP, Tyler The Creator get even more creative with Flower Boy, and Meek Mill putting it all on the table within the music found on Wins And Losses, the anticipation and thirst for these three bodies of work were all present for different reasons. Having each individual having promotional campaigns that fit, Tyler The Creator was one that vocalized his want for the top spot on the Billboard Top 200.
Now, with the official numbers in, Ms. Lana Del Rey is the artist who takes home the coveted spot on this week’s chart with 107,000 equivalent albums sold, with streaming and traditional sales combined. Coming in second is Tyler The Creator, who was very close behind and pushed 106,000 in his first week. Rounding off the top 3 is Meek Mill, who sold 102,000 copies.
Being such a tight race and even having the results delay due to technical difficulties that held up the process of official numbers being sent to Billboard, this past week made for an interesting chart battle. One that will be remembered by dedicated fans, congratulations to all parties for their new album debuts on the Billboard Top 200.
