Kyle Korver injured his ankle in game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals vs. the Cavs, when Matthew Dellavedova slid into him in what may or may not have been an intentional dirty play. It has already been announced that Korver will miss the remainder of the playoffs, and now the news just keeps getting worse.
Korver will undergo surgery on his ankle, per NBA.com’s David Aldrdige.

If you believe Korver’s fellow teammate DeMarre Carrol, Korver could be out 4-6 months.
Korver has been a key part of an Atlanta team that finished first in the East, and played its way to the Eastern Conference Finals despite injury to Thabo Sefolosha. Korver shot an astounding 49.2% from 3-point range this season, and greatly helped Atlanta with his excellent off-ball movement. While his numbers dropped off quite a bit come playoff time, Kyle Korver is still an enormous part of this team, and losing him was more or less the nail in the coffin for a Hawks team who trail Cleveland 3-0.
It would take nothing short of a miracle for the Hawks to take down the Cavs at this point, especially given that no team has ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit. So for now, Atlanta fans should hope that Korver’s surgery goes well, and that he can come back next season playing as well as he did this one.
