The Lakers fell 96-92 to the Atlanta Hawks, stopping the Lakers four game winning streak and Kobe Bryant suffered an ankle injury in the closing moments of the game and is considered to be out indefinitely. Hawks Dahntay Jones undercut Bryant while he attempted a jumper that would have tied the game. This isn’t the first time Jones had intentionally tried to hurt Bryant, he tripped him on purpose during a game between the Denver Nuggets and the Lakers in the 2009 Western Conference finals.
X-Rays on Kobe’s ankle were negative, but it’s a severe sprain and he’s questionable to play in the Lakers next game against the Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse on Friday. Bryant is one of the toughest players in the league when it comes to playing with injuries. However, Bryant said this was the worst ankle sprain he’s had since 2000.
The Lakers superstar always has something to say on twitter after every game, tonight wasn’t the exception:
#dangerousplay that should have been called. Period.
