I must say, it was dope reading the entire interview that Sole Collector had with the man himself, Kobe Bryant. When the Nike Kobe 11 was on the way, I know there was word that it would be his last signature shoe but that obviously doesn’t look to be the case anymore. While speaking with Gerald Flores of SC, Kobe spoke about life after he retires and what he wanted to focus on with his signature line. He also spoke on the fact that he plans to continue to see his line evolve past the Kobe 11 which means we will see a Kobe 12, Kobe 13 and so forth.
Or as Kobe said, “Absolutely!”
Check out the short exert taken from the interview and then head on over to SC to read more of the interview.
Where do you see the Kobe line going after you retire?
We’ll remain extremely consistent with what we’ve been doing, which is creating innovative products that help athletes be the best versions of themselves. That’s not going to change. I don’t focus on how fashion changes. I only focus on creating innovative product. Hopefully the consumer knows by now that if you’re buying a Kobe product, you’re buying something that’s been thought through. We pay attention to detail all the way through. You’re buying something that’s going to help you perform better. That’s not going to stop.So you’re saying there’s going to be a Nike Kobe 12, 13 and so forth?
Absolutely. We’ll continue to evolve. We’re going to continue to push and the line will keep growing.
