Well this is a setback for the Spurs. Maybe Popovich will actually have their players go to the games maybe?
The MVP of the 2014 NBA Finals Kawhi Leonard is going to miss the rest of preseason and possibly opening day of the regular season due to an eye infection. The San Antonio Express News reported the news first.
The infection in Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard’s right eye has spread to his left eye and he will be held out of Saturday’s pre-season game against the Miami Heat at AT&T Center.
“Kawhi Leonard is still out, for 10 more days,” Popovich said before tipoff of Saturday’s game. “(The infection) is going back and forth between the two (eyes). It’s crazy.”
While the ailment is not considered serious the team is proceeding cautiously with the fourth-year player who was Most Valuable Player of the 2014 NBA Finals.
This is some news. If it’s only a 10 days thing, it’ll all blow over once the season gets underway. I’d like to see what the Spurs are going to do tactically with a couple new pieces to work with.
