Within the recent months there’s been little to no talk about Marvel’s fourth original show, Iron Fist. Now thanks to IGN, Marvel’s CCO Joe Quesada, gives us an update on the progress of the show.
“Iron Fist is being worked on. That’s all that I can say” Quesada told IGN at the NYC premier for Jessica Jones. Although there was a reference to the Iron Fist world in season one of Daredevil and there surely is one in the newly released Jessica Jones, people have been speculating whether or not the show would or wouldn’t happen. Like we previously mentioned, since there has been little to no talk about Iron Fist, one could have only guessed it would be hitting the gutter, but thanks to Joe we now know that that isn’t true.
Quesada also speaks about The Defenders and why adding Iron Fist to the mix would work without any problems.
“You have to understand, to the world at large, nobody knows who The Defenders are. So to take the concept, the name and the theme and apply it to this world feels wholly natural. Even when you look at the origins of the team and how the original book came together, it was just another super hero team that wasn’t the Avengers. We have a wonderful, concept behind why they’re this group and why they’re called The Defenders in this particular world.”
While we await the release of the final two shows for Luke Cage and Iron Fist to come about, you can currently binge watch season one of Daredevil and Jessica Jones on Netflix.
