With less than a minute left in Super Bowl XLIX Jermaine Kearse put the Seahawks in position to win with a ridiculous catch. Kearse’s catch put the Seahawks inside the 10 yard line and almost insured a victory for Seattle with Marshawn Lynch in the backfield. It had to be nerve racking for the Patriots who have had their Championship dreams dashed in their last two Super Bowl appearances. Two years ago Mario Manningham made a spectacular catch on the sideline in Indianapolis, six years ago it was David Tyree making the catch on his helmet in Arizona, and this year it looked like Jermaine Kearse’s unbelievable catch was going to send the Patriots home with a loss in the same stadium as Tyree. Fortunately for the Patriots Malcolm Butler’s interception on the goal line two plays later won the game.
