TMZ Sports caught up with Los Angeles Clippers guard and NBA Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford for his reaction to the passing of music icon Prince this week and also the potential for an NBA comeback for his friend and former teammate, Lamar Odom.
Crawford shared a memory of Prince having to do with the beloved Purple Rain movie, also saying he never had the chance to meet him.
Odom, who was fighting for his life a few months ago, was recently seen at Kobe Bryant’s final NBA game in Los Angeles. Afterwards, talking to media, Odom hinted at wanting to get back on the court and in the NBA. Crawford endorsed an Odom return, saying, “he’s so talented”, and that “the basketball world would embrace him”. He also shared a funny story having to do with he and Odom’s mutual love for candy.
Former NBA star Baron Davis told TMZ Sports last week that he would be inviting Odom to play on his team in the Drew League this summer. It would obviously be a remarkable story to see Odom return to the league, but he surely has his work cut out in terms of getting back to where he needs to be physically and mentally to compete on that level again.
But if Lamar Odom is serious about getting back to that level, I’m sure he’ll have plenty of support from his peers.
