Free-agent swingman Gerald Green has agreed to a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, reports Shams Charania of The Vertical:
Green will sign a non-guaranteed deal for training camp, and is expected to compete for a regular-season roster spot. Milwaukee has looked to add depth at the wing positions, bringing Green and veteran guard Brandon Rush to camp.
Green, 31, spent last season with the Boston Celtics. He averaged 5.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game.
Green proved essential in the playoffs, starting in 7 games after not starting a single game during the regular season and shooting 46.7 percent from three-point range. The lineup switch by Brad Stevens helped the Celtics avoid a first-round upset at the hands of the Chicago Bulls.
Green was voted Best Teammate of the year by his Celtics peers.
Green is a ridiculously athletic wing, and is a solid, abeit streaky, shooter.
Since being drafted by the Celtics 18th overall in 2005, Green has also played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets (for four minutes), Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey (now Brooklyn) Nets, Indiana Pacers, Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat. He’s bounced around the league a lot, compiling career averages of 9.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
