For those of us that haven’t been keeping count, the wins that surround DJ Khaled and the current state of his career have been astronomical. With a presence and drive that’s been on a grand display for the past year and more, it’s only right that people are gravitating to the music he’s put out.
Reaching a major milestone with the release of his 10th studio album, Grateful, Khaled’s super impressive roster of collaborations seem to have paid off as the rapper has landed the second no. 1 album of his career, as conveyed by Billboard.
DJ Khaled lands his second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as his latest release, Grateful, bows atop the list. The set — which was released on June 23 through We the Best/Epic Records — earned 149,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 29, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 50,000 were in traditional album sales.
Deserved, mostly due to his constant work and promotion that helped make sure that this moment would arrive, Grateful‘s no. 1 spot makes for icing on the cake as the producer landed his first no. 1 single earlier in the year with “I’m The One.” Even further, this is a big moment and huge accomplishment for his son, Asahd, who landed an executive producer credit.
One that is always at work, we know DJ Khaled will be bring us much more in the near future with more music and perhaps another studio album in the foreseeable future.
