It’s that time again to see just what the past week has done in the landscape of music. While not often vocalized, chart positions play a huge factor in some careers of artists as it serves as a clear indicator of who the public is connecting with at the moment. While a No. 1 hit may not translate into huge albums sales and the lack of a Top 10 hit doesn’t mean an album will do bad, the Billboard Hot 100 gives a clear descriptions of the most popular songs of the moment.
This week, continuing her dominance at the top of the chart, Rihanna’s ‘Work’ remains at No. 1 for the 8th week in a row. Not only that, the singer now ties The Beatles record for the second most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 59 weeks. She’s not the only one that has a cause to celebrate as Desiigner officially lands his first Top 5 hit on the chart with his widely popular track, ‘Panda.’ The record makes a surge from last week where he was No. 14. Next up for Hip-Hop is Toronto’s Drake as ‘Pop Style’ and ‘One Dance’ make their Top 40 debuts at 16 and 21. Lastly, Fifth Harmony & Ty Dolla $ign also finds themselves landing a new peak with their single, ‘Work From Home,’ which rises from 10 to 9.
Check out the current Hot 100 top 10, here, and stay tuned as inevitable changes and increases will be made next week.
