Derrick Rose suffered a left orbital fracture right before the preseason began and was forced to miss some time thanks to his surgery. Well a month and a half later and Derrick Rose is still having problems with his vision and he’s realized it’s something he has to deal with.
Rose downplayed coach Fred Hoiberg’s casual comment that Rose’s vision issues could last up to three months. Rose suffered a fractured left orbital bone Sept. 29 and had surgery the next day.
“You kind of have that hope in your mind that it gets well quicker, but for this to be seven or eight (weeks) out and still the same way, I can’t do nothing but live with it.
“It’s still blurry when I look certain ways. The depth perception of the rim, my eyes are thrown off. I’m finding ways around it, but there’s no excuses. I’m not going to blame anything on it. I just know it’s part of the process and something I have to deal with.”
It kind of makes sense now that Derrick Rose is shooting 35% from the field and only averaging a sorry 12.6 ppg. Rose has only hit the 20 points once and doesn’t look as good as he did during the Bulls last playoff run.
Derrick Rose is still a top tier point guard, but until he can string together a couple months of being at least 80% healthy, we probably wont truly see that mesmerizing electric MVP Rose we fell in love with a few years ago.
