As we all should be aware of by now, Kobe Bryant has officially announced his retirement which will take place at the end of this season. Since then, the farewell tour has been off and running with fans of not only Kobe but the game of basketball looking to get one last viewing of arguably the second best shooting guard ever. While on this farewell tour, opposing teams have been gifting Bryant with farewell gifts and to not take focus away from the game he asks that teams hold off with gifts until after the game.
With the Lakers taking on the Toronto Raptors last night (12/7/15) it will make the last time Kobe will visit Toronto Canada as a Los Angeles Laker, unless he makes the All-Star team for the West. DeMarr DeRozan took to twitter to showcase the presentation of him providing Kobe with the parting gift. Ironically DeRozan has been seen pretty often rocking Kobe’s signature shoe on the court so what better gift than a custom pair of his own sneaker. The choice of shoe is the Nike Kobe 10 EXT Mid ‘Liquid Gold’.
On one side there are Kobe Bryant, ‘Black Mamba’ graphics and on the other shoe the graphics are representation of Toronto; a maple leaf and ‘ We The North’. Lastly they provide Bean with a matching hat to complete the ensemble.
Below is the tweet as the picture stands alone above, I think its a great gesture for teams to present one of the G.O.A.Ts with parting gifts to show their appreciation for what Kobe has brought to the game of basketball.
We couldn’t let @kobebryant leave without a token of our appreciation. A @Raptors gift for one of the GOATs. #Kobe20 pic.twitter.com/PIZJz2iLxZ
