Damian Lillard: good basketball player.
While the focus of the basketball world is on the likes of the Warriors and the Cavs, the Blazers are getting right back to business.
Portland surprised everyone with their success last season. Predicted to be one of the worst teams in the league, the Blazers were shockingly able to not only reach the postseason but beat a depleted Clippers team in the first round.
This year is much of the same. Many have billed Portland as a team likely to regress. That may still be true but for at least one night, the Blazers attempted to prove otherwise. They did so on the back of Damian Lillard.
Lillard opened up the season in a big way. The point guard scored a cool 39 points on 13-20 shooting. He also added nine rebounds and six assists to his tally, completing a strong all-around game.
The Blazers were able to use Lillard’s scoring outburst to edge past the Utah Jazz by a final score of 113-104.
It was just another day in the office for Damian Lillard who once again closed out the game on a scoring spree too ensure a win. Same old, same old for the star point guard.
